International panel of LGBTIQ+ activists and leaders.

Influential international panel of guests join upcoming 11th Health In Difference conference and the 5th LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care conference.

Guests include, Sarah McBride, Louisa Wall, Rory O’Neill, Eloise Stonbourgh and will be chaired by Australia’s very own Julie McCrossin.

Nicky Bath, CEO, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia said, “LGBTIQ activists and leaders from across the globe inspire us to tackle the hard issues and continue breaking down barriers. They provide us with new ideas and internationally tested strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ people.”

Join us for the première of this pre-recorded panel discussing global events, COVID-19, LGBTIQ+ rights and wedge politics followed by an online facilitated conversation and networking session for conference participants at 2pm (AEST) Thursday 22 April.

This session is included as part of the registration for either or both of our two conferences which will be hosted online over three consecutive Fridays, 16, 23 and 30 April. 

For the first time both conferences will be held concurrently and entirely online allowing participants and speakers to join from across Australia.

“The conference programs are very strong and there are interesting satellite sessions as well as interactive online spaces. We encourage everyone working in LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing, and LGBTI ageing and aged care to join us,” Nicky Bath concluded.

Sarah McBride (she/her)

Member of the Delaware State Senate, USA

Sarah McBride is an American activist and politician who is a Democratic member of the Delaware Senate since January 2021. She is currently the National Press Secretary of the Human Rights Campaign. Sarah McBride is the first ever openly transgender state senator in US history.

Louisa Wall (she/her)


List MP based in South Auckland, New Zealand.

Louisa Wall is the New Zealand Member of Parliament for Manurewa, having stood for the New Zealand Labour Party. She has represented New Zealand in both netball as a Silver Fern and rugby union as a member of the Black Ferns, and is highly significant in the marriage equality movement.

Rory O’Neill, also known by his stage name as Panti or Panti Bliss is a drag queen and gay rights activist from Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland.

Eloise Stonbourgh (she/her)

Associate Director of Policy and Research, Stonewall  

Stonewall is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights charity in the United Kingdom, named after the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City’s Greenwich Village. It is the largest LGBT rights organisation in Europe and was formed in 1989 by political activists and others lobbying against section 28 of the Local Government Act.
