Policy Submission: National Lung Cancer Screening Program Guidelines

Cancer Australia recently invited feedback on their draft National Lung Cancer Screening Program Guidelines.

These guidelines aim to address lung cancer risks and screening barriers, recognising the unique needs of priority populations, including LGBTIQ+ people. LHA provided a submission highlighting the importance of embedding inclusive strategies into the guidelines to ensure equitable access and culturally safe care for LGBTIQ+ people. Recommendations include tailored outreach, mandatory cultural competency training, robust data practices, and actions to address systemic barriers.
