LHA has provided comments on the Senate Inquiry into the Transition of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) to the Support at Home Program (SAH). Ensuring cultural sensitivity in the delivery of aged care services, including being LGBTI welcoming, is essential regardless of framework structure.

LHA emphasised the need for LGBTI older people to be supported in receiving their preferred type of care. This includes many who would prefer to be remain independent and stay at home, while continuing to be connected to community with lower-level supports, many of which of which are funded through CHSP.
