Submission with feedback on the National Roadmap to Improve the Health and Mental Health of Autistic People

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) has provided feedback on the National Roadmap to Improve the Health and Mental Health of Autistic People.

LHA welcomes the recognition that autistic people are more likely to be LGBTIQ+ and face compounded discrimination in healthcare settings.

The submission emphasises the need for autism-affirming and LGBTIQ+ inclusive healthcare spaces, improved access to gender-affirming care, and tailored mental health services.

LHA also highlights the importance of intersectionality in addressing the needs of autistic LGBTIQ+ people from marginalised communities.
