On December 4, 2025, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia hosted a webinar exploring the lived experiences and long-term impacts of so-called LGBTQ+ conversion practices, often referred to as “ex-gay” or “reparative therapy.”

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) welcomes the announcement by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Health and Medical Research Office at the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing that, from 2026, all NHMRC and Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant programs will be required to embed the principles of the Statement on Sex, Gender, Variations of Sex Characteristics and Sexual Orientation in Health and Medical Research.

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) welcomes the launch of the Government’s Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program and expanded eligibility for existing Medicare Benefits Schedule bulk billing incentives which now apply to all Medicare-eligible patients.

On October 9, 2025, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia hosted a webinar exploring the findings of The Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People in Rural Australia, a comprehensive review that highlights the health disparities, barriers to care, and opportunities for change affecting an estimated 340,000 LGBTIQA+ people living in regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia.

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA), the national peak body for LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing, congratulates the re-elected Albanese government on its success in the 2025 federal election.

LHA is pleased to endorse the National Aged Care Alliance (NACA) Election Position Statement.

NACA, of which LHA is a member, is a cross-sectoral body constituted of aged care providers, the aged care workforce and consumer organisations to coordinate efforts on key aged care reforms, following the Aged Care Royal Commission.
