This role has responsibility for the rollout and management of the LGBTIQA+ Health Program (LHP). The LHP seeks to uplift LGBTIQA+ community-controlled, community-led and where appropriate, mainstream organisations that deliver dedicated clinical and non-clinical health care and/or wellbeing services tailored to one or more LGBTIQA+ subpopulations.
This is a critical role and includes managing relationships with grant recipients, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, and enhancing internal processes related to contracts and payments. Maintaining high standards of program delivery and operational integrity across the grants that LHA receives and grant programs that LHA administers is vital as is being committed to fostering positive change through strategic partnerships and effective grant management. LHA is focused on empowering grant recipients to uphold the highest standards of governance and streamline processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
What you will do:
- Oversee the full cycle of grant management, from proposal development to final reporting and acquittal, ensuring compliance with funder regulations, organisational policies, and best practices in grant management.
- Manage procurement processes for goods and services required for grant implementation, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures, maintaining transparency and accountability.
- Provide technical assistance and support to grant recipients, helping them to understand program requirements and reporting obligations via training sessions and workshops to build grant recipient’s capacity in grant management and compliance.
- Assess and streamline internal processes related to contracts, payments, and reporting to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, implementing best practices in grant and procurement management, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and reporting.
- Develop and maintain a robust reporting system to track grant expenditures, deliverables and compliance and identify any potential risks associated with grant management and procurement processes.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor or Master Qualifications in Business Administration, Government Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership position within a nonprofit or governmental entity.
- Strong knowledge of grant administration processes, compliance, and regulations with a proven track record of managing multiple grants and projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret program and financial data.

- Convenient office locations: This role is open to people based in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. The Sydney office is based next to Museum station and a short walk from Central station. LHA’s Melbourne hub is based at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, and in Canberra we are closely located to Civic.
