Grants and Contracts Lead

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Grants and Contracts Lead to manage the coordination and administration of grant funding and procurement processes across LHA.

This role is focused on the roll out the Commonwealth Government’s LGBTIQA+ Health Program (LHP) that seeks to uplift LGBTIQA+ community-controlled, community-led and where appropriate, mainstream organisations that deliver dedicated clinical and non-clinical health care and/or wellbeing services tailored to one or more LGBTIQA+ subpopulations. The role will also contribute to ensuring all LHA grants are managed with integrity, efficiency, and impact.

You’ll manage the full lifecycle of grants—from application support to acquittals—while overseeing procurement activities that align with LHA policies and values. You’ll work closely with internal teams, funders, and suppliers to ensure compliance, build capacity, and continuously improve systems and processes.


What you will do:

  • Coordinate grant management processes including contracts, reporting, and compliance.
  • Manage procurement activities to ensure transparency, value for money, and accountability.
  • Support grant recipients and internal teams with training and technical assistance.
  • Maintain systems for tracking grant and procurement performance and reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate across teams to align funding and procurement activities with organisational goals.

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a leadership position within a nonprofit or governmental entity.
  • Demonstrated experience in grants and/or procurement management, ideally in the not-for-profit or public sector.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and funding agreements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Convenient office locations: This role is open to people based in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. The Sydney office is based next to Museum station and a short walk from Central station. LHA’s Melbourne hub is based at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, and in Canberra we are closely located to Civic.
