MindOut is funded through the National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program (NSPLSP). It develops and delivers activities aimed at preventing suicide and improving the mental health and wellbeing outcomes of LGBTIQ+ communities through developing national suicide prevention, training and capacity building initiatives.
The core focus of this role is to ensure that MindOut is delivered to the highest standard and is guided by current research and models of best practice.
What you will do:
- Lead the design and delivery of initiatives to strengthen the suicide prevention sector.
- Build partnerships with community organisations, government, and lived experience advocates.
- Develop and implement capacity-building activities, including training and resources.
- Oversee program planning, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Manage performance, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
- Contribute to policy and advocacy efforts to support systemic change.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in program management within the health, mental health, or community sectors.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with people with lived experience.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to design and deliver impactful capacity-building initiatives.
- Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and evidence-informed practice.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for suicide prevention and driving positive, systemic change
- Knowledge of the current health disparities and issues affecting LGBTIQ+ people, including SisterGirls, BrotherBoys, and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Convenient office locations: This role is open to people based in Sydney and Melbourne. The Sydney office is based next to Museum station and a short walk from Central station. LHA’s Melbourne hub is based at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda.
