Lead in the management of two exciting programs within the Aged Care & Disability space, ensuring that members of the LGBTIQ communities needs are met.
- Full-time, 2-year contract

- Competitive remuneration on SCHCADS Award Level 7, starting from $116,500 (incl leave loading) base salary, plus super and NFP salary sacrifice.
About the Role
In this role, the Director Training and Capacity Building is responsible for the management of the Ageing and Aged Care program (Silver Rainbow Program), and the Disability Inclusion programs. This role reports to the Deputy CEO and oversees the two program leads as direct reports.
- Manage Ageing and Aged Care programs (Silver Rainbow), oversee Disability Inclusion programs, and ensure program key performance indicators are met through effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Support in transitioning the Silver Rainbow program into a fee for service program, to be delivered by partner organisations.
- Develop strategies and maintain relationships to provide integrated responses to LGBTIQ community needs, working closely with the Deputy CEO and CEO on funding proposals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contracts, and organisational policies, addressing any unprofessional behaviour, and maintaining respectful, confidential stakeholder relationships.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through integrity and professionalism, representing LHA at forums and committees focused on LGBTIQ health and wellbeing.
- Oversee financial and human resources, manage budgets for the programs, and ensure project deliverables are met in collaboration with Program Coordinators.
- Engage with the sector to promote training and capacity building initiatives, manage relationships with LHA partners, and act as the key liaison between funders and LHA programs.
- Promote LHA and these programs at various external meetings, speaking events and conferences. Travel may be required once a month.
Essential Criteria
To excel in this role, you must be an experienced program and people manager with a passion for working with the LGBTIQ community in the health sector. Key requirements include:
- In-depth knowledge of the Aged Care sector and the challenges faced by the LGBTIQ+ ageing community (Desirable, not essential).
- Extensive background in training and development, preferably in health or community services.
- Proven experience in program management and implementing health and wellbeing programs.
- Project management experience is highly regarded.
- Strong financial acumen for budget management and reporting to funding bodies.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Empathetic, strengths-based, and approachable leadership style.
