LGBTIQ+ Health Australia have lodged a submission regarding the Religious Discrimination Bill 2021 to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights, and to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee.
LGBTIQ+ Health Australia has long advocated for reducing discrimination to achieve equitable health outcomes for all Australians. As such, comprehensive protection from discrimination for people of faith, and those who hold no religious belief is important. However, this should not and cannot be achieved by undermining existing rights and protections for LGBTIQ+ people.
