The Australian Federal Budget for 2026-27 is expected to be put to Parliament on 12 May 2026.

The 2026 Federal Budget is an opportunity for the government to invest in sustainable solutions to deliver the National Action Plan for the Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People 2025–2035.

Progress has been made to date, and increased resourcing is required to accelerate action on systemic health inequities.

LHA developed the 2026 Budget Submission in collaboration with member organisations. It provides tangible, evidence-based initiatives to address issues that continue to disproportionately affect LGBTIQ+ communities. Together, these measures continue to work toward the LHA vision of healthy LGBTIQ+ individuals, communities, and organisations, free from the burdens of stigma and discrimination and supported by safe, affirming and accessible services.
