LGBTIQ+ Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Sector Survey 2026 - LGBTIQ+ Health Australia

MindOut is calling on mental health and suicide prevention professionals to complete the LGBTIQ+ Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Sector Survey 2026.

LGBTIQ+ people in Australia continue to experience disproportionately high rates of psychological distress and suicide risk. The aim of this survey is to gather information about sector capability to support all LGBTIQ+ populations through questions on knowledge, practice and organisational systems.

Insights will help inform MindOut's future training, policy development and lived-experience initiatives, with the hope of strengthening suicide prevention practices across Australia.

The survey is not an assessment of individual or organisational performance. It is an opportunity to reflect on current knowledge, skills and awareness, and to identify where further learning, resources and system-level change may be needed.

This survey is grounded in Australian evidence, including Private Lives 3 (La Trobe University, 2020), Writing Themselves In 4 (La Trobe University, 2021), and the Trans and Gender Diverse Youth Wellbeing Survey (Telethon Kids Institute, 2021).

While not every question requires a response, we encourage you to provide answers to each one. Insights captured from each question will provide a more accurate and holistic overview of people's knowledge, skills and awareness within the sector, and strengthen advocacy for reform.

Results will be shared through an accessible summary report and a sector webinar.

Survey closes Wednesday 16 September.
