LHA has made a submission to the Australian Government’s consultation on the development of a new Disability Support Quality and Safeguarding Framework and a Disability Support Ecosystem Safeguarding Strategy, emphasising the importance of strong, accessible safeguards that protect the rights, safety and dignity of LGBTIQ+ people with disability.

We highlighted the need for culturally safe complaints and oversight mechanisms, workforce capability in inclusive practice, and sustainable investment in LGBTIQ+ community-controlled organisations to provide advocacy and support grounded in lived experience.
