Submission in Response to Australia’s Ninth Periodic CEDAW Report

LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) has made a submission in response to Australia's Ninth Periodic Report under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

This submission highlights the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ women, trans women, and gender-diverse people, particularly in areas such as health disparities, discrimination, and access to services.  LHA calls for stronger measures to address these inequities, including improved data collection, targeted services, and more comprehensive protections for LGBTIQ+ people.

The submission also emphasises the need for trans-inclusive domestic and family violence services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of trans women and gender-diverse people.
