The Australian Human Rights Commission’s Equal Identities report provides a comprehensive national picture of the experiences of trans and gender-diverse people in Australia.
This webinar will explore how the report was developed, what it tells us about people’s experiences across key areas of life, and the actions needed to address systemic barriers. It will focus in particular on the recommendations and the policy changes required to ensure trans and gender-diverse people are safe, respected and able to access appropriate care and support.
While visibility of trans and gender-diverse people has increased, the report highlights persistent barriers across education, employment, healthcare and community life. It also draws attention to the real-world impacts of misinformation, discrimination and exclusion.
This webinar provides an opportunity to engage directly with the findings and consider what is required to translate them into meaningful policy and practice change.
This webinar contributes to LHA’s ongoing work to support evidence-informed policy and improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ populations, including through implementation of the National Action Plan for the Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People 2025–2035.

This webinar will include a presentation by a representative of the Australian Human Rights Commission involved in the Equal Identities project.
Members, including staff, volunteers and delegates of LHA Full, Regular, Affiliate and Associate member organisations can attend free as part of their supporter benefits.
