Rhetoric in the recent Australian election campaign directly targeted and attacked trans women, bringing the issue of trans misogyny into the national spotlight.
Co-hosted by LGBTIQ+ Health Australia and the Zoe Belle Gender Collective, our panel brings five trans women in leadership positions together to discuss trans misogyny as a driver of violence and how this harmful campaign has adversely impacted trans women, their families and communities.
This is an important opportunity for allies and the LGBTIQA+ service sector to listen to the voices of trans women and learn how to better identify and respond to trans misogyny. Our team will offer practical tips and guidance for both services and allies in including trans women in our work toward gender equality.

Starlady |
Starlady (she/her) is a queer trans woman/feminine person living on Dja Dja Wurrung country and is the Program Manager at the Zoe Belle Gender Collective, a Victorian based trans and gender diverse advocacy organisation. She is a passionate about social justice, the prevention of gender based violence and dismantling trans misogyny. Starlady is the lead author and campaign director of Transfemme, a campaign and website promoting healthier relationships between trans women and cis men. |

Estelle Clarke |
Estelle is a Yorta Yorta, Wemba Wemba Trans Woman or "Sistergirl". She was born in Boorloo on Noongar Whadjuk but has resided in Gadigal Country since 2015. In 2014 she was the Western Australian Young Person of the Year as well as a National Young People's Human Rights Medal finalist. She now works at BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation as the Programs and Training Coordinator based at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern. |

Eloise Brook |
Eloise is a writer, advocate and academic. She is the Health and Communications Manager for the NSW Gender Centre, podcaster, writer and speaker. She has worked as a researcher and lecturer into public health policy and political science at Sydney University and Western Sydney University. Eloise has published on queer and TGD families in television, researched on public health and public policy around TGD people. She is currently the editor of Australia's most well known transgender and Gender Diverse Magazine: POLARE. |
