On Thursday, 17 October, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia hosted the second part of its two-part symposium, showcasing groundbreaking health and medical research aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ communities in Australia.
Presenters included Dr Louisa Smith, Prof Damien Riggs, Dr Rosalie Power, Dr Kenneth Pang, Assoc. Prof Morgan Carpenter, and Prof Adam Bourne.
Supported by a $26 million investment from the Medical Research Future Fund's Emerging Priorities and Consumer Driven Research Initiative, 13 ground-breaking projects have been initiated to transform health outcomes for LGBTIQA+ people. This symposium series offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the researchers leading these important studies.
The discussions explored how these projects are advancing LGBTIQA+ health research in innovative ways, and addressed emerging trends, challenges, and solutions in LGBTIQA+ healthcare.
