Policy and Research Webinar - Supporting lesbian, bisexual and queer cisgender women through premenstrual dysphoric disorder, perimenopause and menopause.

On August 20, 2025, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia hosted a webinar supporting lesbian, bisexual and queer cisgender women through premenstrual dysphoric disorder, perimenopause and menopause.

Explore how tailored health information and clinical care can better support lesbian, bisexual and queer (LBQ+) cisgender women experiencing premenstrual dysphoric disorder, perimenopause, and menopause.

The discussion highlights new fact sheets co-developed by Jean Hailes for Women’s Health and LHA, based on existing Jean Hailes resources and updated with input from LHA and its member organisations to ensure relevance for LBQ+ cisgender women.

The session brings together lived-experience and clinical perspectives to explore how these conditions are experienced, understood and managed, and the role inclusive health communication can play in improving outcomes for LBQ+ women.

Moderated by Carolyn Gillespie (she/her) Chair of the Board of LGBTIQ+ Health Australia and Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Health In the North.

Presentation by Rose Dupleix (she/her) Evidence and Insights Coordinator at national women’s health not-for-profit, Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, Dr Ruth McNair (she/her) Melbourne GP and honorary Associate Professor who has dedicated her career to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ people, Nicky Bath (she/her) CEO of LGBTIQ+ Health Australia.
