With an ambition to bring the latest in LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing policy to the forefront of the national discussion, LGBTIQ+ Health Australia, national peak health organisation in Australia for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people and other sexuality and gender diverse (LGBTIQ+) people and communities and JOY 94.9 have launched a brand-new podcast today.
Entitled The Latest, in LGBTIQ+ Health and Policy the premier episode covers preventing violence and discrimination against LGBTIQ+ communities in Australia and across the globe. It features an interview with Victor Madrigal-Borloz, the United Nations Independent Expert on Protection Against Violence and Discrimination based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. Mr Madrigal-Borloz is a Costa Rican jurist and senior visiting researcher at the Harvard Law School’s Human Rights Program.
A panel made up of prominent advocate and Just.Equal committee member Rodney Croome, CEO of Equality Australia Anna Brown, and Michael Frommer of the Australian Human Rights Commission explore the current state of protections for LGBTIQ+ people in Australia.

The conversations in each episode are guided by broadcaster and producer Triana Butler (she/they), who brings a wealth of award-winning experience to the podcast. “Triana asks probing questions that bring out the best in some of international and Australia’s leading thinkers and researchers in LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing policy,” Ms Bath said.
