LGBTIQ+ Health Australia, ACON and Switchboard Victoria convened a breakfast event during the 2026 National Suicide Prevention Conference (NSPC). Bringing together practitioners, advocates, researchers, community leaders and people with lived and living experience from across Australia, the discussion explored current challenges, promising practices, systems reform opportunities and priorities for national coordination in LGBTIQA+ suicide prevention.
From the insights shared, a report was developed titled LGBTIQA+ Suicide Prevention: Community-Led Insights, Shared Priorities & National Connection which captures the priorities and reform opportunities shared by conference delegates.
This webinar will:
- Reflect on the insights captured in the report
- Help the mental health and suicide prevention workforce understand what community-led organisations are seeing on the ground
- Discuss what approaches appear most effective
- Explore what practical opportunities exist for all mental health and suicide prevention services to strengthen responses for LGBTIQA+ communities
