By joining the National LGBTIQ+ Health and Wellbeing Research Network, you agree to: 

• Work to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ people, their families, and their communities. 
• Support the vision, mission and values of LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (https://www.lgbtiqhealth.org.au/guiding_principles), including:
  • respecting the dignity, views and experience of all people  
  • valuing diversity and promoting the equality of all people  
  • working to end violence in all its forms 
  • undertaking activities to the highest professional standards 
  • empowering health consumers to control their health needs 
  • operating from a framework that supports self determination 
  • operating from a framework of genuine stakeholder engagement 
  • affirming bodies, genders and relationships in all of their diversity through respectful inclusive language and bodily autonomy. 
• Engage in research consistent with these values, including: 
  • defends and promotes human rights 
  • adheres to ethical conduct 
  • ensures safety for all LGBTIQ+ people participating in research 
  • incorporates community consultation, co-design and intersectionality 
  • uses language that is fully inclusive
  • prioritises high quality, best practice, rigorous research 
  • adopts the ABS 2020 Standard for Sex, Gender, Variations of Sex Characteristics and Sexual Orientation Variables 
• Engage respectfully with the network: 
  • contribute and respond to requests for advice 
  • encourage productive debate  
  • use collegial approaches to build capacity and forming collaborations 
  • use respectful inclusive language and politely challenge divisive language 
  • work to build a community of LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing researchers
